We’re working to improve the local ecology of pregnancy, birth, and early parenting in Richmond, Virginia.
Nurture is a Richmond, Virginia non-profit founded in April, 2012. We are in the start-up phase of our development. Nurture grew out of the prenatal and postnatal yoga and childbirth education classes that have been offered by Leslie Lytle and OmMama since 2001.
Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of childbearing families through fitness, education, social support, and community engagement.
Our goal is the creation of a dedicated maternity resource center that offers high-quality, high-value education, wellness, and support services for Richmond’s emerging families and the professionals who serve this audience. The center would also serve as a hub to facilitate communication and collaboration between existing maternal/child health organizations so that we create a continuous web of support for expecting mothers and new families.
We’re working hard to make this vision a reality. Click here to follow our progress on the Nurture website and blog.
